1. What is your name and title?

Nelson Walker is the Senior Director of Operations at AMFAC. In his role, he oversees the operational management of the company’s facility services, ensuring that all projects are executed smoothly and clients receive the best possible outcomes. He collaborates with various teams across the organization to manage day-to-day operations and drive growth.

2. How long have you been with AMFAC?

Nelson has been with AMFAC for over 8 months. Though relatively new to the company, he has quickly immersed himself in a variety of projects and has already made a significant impact. In his short time at AMFAC, he has built strong relationships, familiarized himself with the company’s vision, and contributed to several key initiatives.

3. What inspired you to join AMFAC?

When asked what attracted him to AMFAC, he shared that the company offered a unique combination of flexibility and a collaborative work environment. He was drawn to the opportunity to continue working in operations while managing his own schedule, free from micromanagement. The ability to work remotely and have more control over his time was a key factor in his decision.

But beyond the flexible work structure, he also felt a strong connection to the company’s culture. He described AMFAC as feeling like “an extended family,” where colleagues genuinely support each other. He appreciated the positive, collaborative atmosphere, which made him eager to join a team that truly valued teamwork and mutual respect.

4. What excites you most about the future of AMFAC?

Looking ahead, Nelson is particularly excited about the company’s growth prospects. He shared that one of the things he’s most eager about is expanding AMFAC’s facilities management portfolio and securing more government contracts. With the recent growth of AMFAC’s Business Development and Marketing teams, he believes the company is poised to take advantage of new opportunities in the market.

In addition to growing the business, he is excited about the possibility of bringing on new team members. As AMFAC grows, he looks forward to working with fresh talent who share the company’s values and commitment to excellence. “The future is full of opportunities,” he said, “and I’m excited to see where we can take the company next.”

5. What has been your favorite project at AMFAC so far?

When reflecting on his favorite project at AMFAC, he highlighted the BGIS-Chevron projects as a standout experience. He led the installation of a 14KW generator and 36K mini-split units across five locations in Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois. The project was both complex and rewarding.

He explained that what made this project special was the autonomy he was given. “Jameka and Chris trusted me to manage these projects with minimal guidance, and that independence was invaluable,” he shared. The project required careful coordination of multiple teams and resources. “I had a hand in every aspect, from permitting to installation, and seeing the project through to completion was incredibly rewarding,” he said. For him, it was a perfect example of the kind of work that makes him proud to be part of AMFAC.

6. What’s one thing you’d like our clients to know about you?

When asked what he would like clients to know about him, Nelson emphasized his commitment to excellence and delivering tangible results. He explained that he is deeply passionate about ensuring clients receive value from the services provided, stating, “I understand that every decision we make impacts our clients, and I take that responsibility seriously.”

He shared that his approach to facility management is rooted in attention to detail, problem-solving, and a proactive mindset. “I always look for ways to improve, solve problems before they arise, and make the facility management process as seamless as possible for our clients,” he said.
